Multiplex Human Herpesvirus (HHV) Genotyping

The offered service is designed to simultaneously detect and genotype

  • Human Herpes simplex virus HSV1 and HSV2, varicella zoster virus (VZV), Epstein-Barr-Virus (EBV), cytomegalovirus (CMV), HHV6, HHV7, and HHV8.

Test specifications

Genotyping of HHV is done after DNA extraction with specific primer sequences in a multiplex PCR, and subsequent hybridisation using specific oligonucleotide probes. For control of DNA quality the presence of the PolA gene is tested as a reference. Several positive and negative controls are included to test PCR performance.

Procedure

To be done by the user

  • DNA isolation from appropriate clinical specimens such as bronchoalveolar lavage, conjunctival fluid, sore secretion, blister material, plasma, serum and urine
  • Sign in and complete the HHV Genotyping Order Form
  • Label tubes with your name and a specific sample name as provided in the Order Form

To be done by Multiplexion

  • Multiplex PCR-based amplification of HHV
  • Detection and Genotyping of PCR products by specific oligonucleotide probes
  • Transfer of results to customer by Email or Fax
